Framingham risk is used to calculate the likelihood of developing symptoms of heart disease within the next 10 years. Please remember that this a tool used to predict risk of disease based on the Framingham heart disease study and is not 100% accurate in every case.

By using this tool, it helps bring all of the different risk factors into perspective. By combining blood pressure, cholesterol, smoking and diabetes into one picture, you get a complete view of your risk of heart disease.
